Have you heard about Telehealth therapy?
In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has restricted access of many health-care centers, we as medical practitioners are working tirelessly to provide the best quality care to our patients while limiting the transmission of this illness.
Telehealth has risen as an excellent way for people to continue seeking medical services while being in the convenience, privacy and safety of their own homes. Through delivering treatment online rather than in person, we will keep both our patients and PT staff comfortable and stable.
For more information on our telehealth services and how they may benefit you, feel free to call us at (913) 681-0606, schedule a telehealth appointment with our website chatbot, OR click here to schedule your virtual appointment!
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a way for medical professionals such as doctors and physical therapists, to guarantee that our patients continue to get the best treatment available from a distant area, such as their home. Telehealth may also be a great option if you travel for your work, have transportation or childcare issues that prevent you from getting to some or all of your PT appointments in our clinics.
At College Park Physical Therapy, our telehealth services offer a one on one interactive appointment where you can meet, chat, and participate in a PT session with your therapist. You can do exercises and stretches or perform gait and other functional movements or activities with our physical therapist’s guidance and supervision of your treatment plan.
Telehealth programs can be accessed by smartphone or computer device, allowing you to complete physical therapy sessions from the convenience of your own home. You’ll also be able to track your results and see how you’re doing as your therapy progresses.
Is Telehealth Beneficial?
In addition to allowing for the practice of social distancing, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, telehealth also has other benefits for patients.
As stated by the American Physical Therapy Association, “Patients typically in clinical or hospital settings could be managed effectively from their homes”.
What issues and conditions can Telehealth therapy treat?
There are tons of conditions that Telehealth therapy can help to treat. Some of the most common ones are:
- Back pain
- Arthritis pain
- Post-surgical rehab
- Headaches/migraines
- Injury rehab
- Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic conditions
- Sports medicine/athletic training
- Respiratory issues
If your condition is not listed above, feel free to contact our office during business hours to find out if telehealth physical therapy is a good fit for you.
